  1. https://www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/mintage-figures/2020-dated-uk-commemorative-coin-sales/ Includes Trial of the Pyx sales - some are much lower that the 6-10 you might expect. Interesting that they only sold single 1kg and 2kg special issue gold Bond coins but they both had the plaque number 007. I guess you can command to be choosy when you're spending that much Anything else interesting in there?
  2. I'm dying to know what my 1861 and 1874 London sovs from the Douro shipwreck come up as now, but I should probably just buy the book anyway as it looks useful. Where's the best place?
  3. Nice! I had no idea 'scarce' could be in the millions. I suppose there are much less today though due to them being melted down for the wars.
  4. What is it that makes this scarce? The incused WW or something else?
  5. Wow, busy day for 2005 proof sovs. How strange!
  6. I really like these sort of oddities. A horse and a lion operating a coin press, and coin blanks on the opposite side. Rumour has it, this is how coins are still made at the mint.
  7. Free delivery on bullion, and still under a grand. I already posted this in the silver deals thread this morning.
  8. Unlikely. The stock count went from 2 to 1 before it reached 0, and I'm sure at least one of the purchasers must be reading this 😀
  9. Both sold now, so I guess that was another good deal I didn't take up! 🤣
  10. https://www.hattongardenmetals.com/proof-Sovereign-2005 471 posted for a proof 2005 sov
  11. Back in stock: https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/bullion-coins/silver-coins/queens-beasts-2021-kilo-silver-coin/ 8 left, be quick!
  12. Is there any need for RM to make money? Yes!
  13. From their internal design competitions, I bet there is a Vantage V8 trial piece in their museum now!
  14. They did that on one of the 2020 coins.
  15. I do like it when people buy coins they like or that have special meaning to them rather than just buying them because they "will do well in the future". Hopefully it will tick both boxes though! 🤣
  16. All their prices went up a couple of weeks ago so even the cupro bunc 50p will be £12 now. The silver proof will probably be £61, or £71 if coloured. I wonder if the annual sets will be the only way to get certain coins without colour.
  17. From the 70s or thereabouts it seemed commonplace for bank staff to actively take out silver coins when sorting them.
  18. Annoyingly, I could have got myself a 2017 proof for 434 last year when a dealer mispriced a piedfort one which turned out to not exist (haha, was worth a try!), but said I could have a full version of the same coin for the same price instead. Why did I decline?!
  19. I have one, but if I sold it I wouldn't have a full set either. I think that might be what makes them tricky to find!
  20. Ahh! That's a real shame about the die clash not being noted. I would have challenged them on that one, and it might be worth doing so even now? I know someone who had to try three times to get them to grade an obvious error coin as an error but they did it in the end.
