Amoulsda12 reacted to SilverCrane in Gold Syrian 1950 Pound (MS 66) (Reduced to £575)
Hello again,
I have for sale a Syrian Gold Pound 1950, which in of itself is rare. But to be a grade of 66 is as rare as newts knockers.
Issuer Syria Period 1946 - 1958 Type Standard circulation coin Year 1369 (1950) Calendar Islamic (Hijri) Value 1 Pound (1 SYP) Currency Pound (1919-date) Composition Gold (.900) (Copper .100) Weight 6.7586 g
Price estimates vary greatly from Numista at the silly low to NGC at silly high. Im looking for £575 at your door, which
is a considerable chunk off what i originally paid. But that`s what crypto dips do to you.
All the best
Kristian

Amoulsda12 got a reaction from modofantasma in 1/2 Sov 1818 AU58
I bought this cracking little half sov from a well known dealer here on the Forum earlier this year.
I graded it and both the seller and I were surprised that it came back from NGC as AU58; it should be higher as a MS holder in our views but there you go. I’ve decided not to re-submit it and I’m now moving it on from my collection.
I’m asking £1350 +post which is the same price I paid for it raw so the grading & photovision pics effectively come in for free.
Any queries please PM, many thanks.

Amoulsda12 reacted to Chrispringle85 in Mexican gold and silver 🇲🇽 offers welcome
A rare opportunity to own some truly beautiful Mexican gold and silver
This is my 1921 Mexican set and it's been the pride of my collection for a number of years, Ive only decided to sell as the Mrs wants us to take the kids over to Australia to see family and the cost of the flights alone are eye watering. So here I am...
For anyone who dose not know 1921 marked 100 years of independence for Mexico and was a key year for Mexican coins.
It would be nice to sell as a set if possible as surly these belong together but I understand that might be a big ask so I have priced them individually.
1921 Mexico 50 pesos (the original centenarino) ngc ms64. £3,000pp
1921/11 Mexico 20 (veinte) pesos ngc ms63 £1200pp
1921 Mexico un peso £300pp
1921 Mexico dos peso. (only year of issue for this coin and virtually impossible to find one that's not got a details grade) £100pp
Any questions please ask.
Thanks for looking

Amoulsda12 reacted to Leonmarsh in Coin in hand pics added - 1068-1071 Byzantine AV Histamenon Nomisma AU NGC Romanus IV Christ Sear-1859
I always try and bring something different to the forum, got to be better than a coin knocked out by big fat Dave in quality control at the royal mint last week, full of DNA on your proof
Here is a stunning 1068-1071 AD Byzantine AV Histamenon Nomisma Romanus IV Christ graded NGC AU which may have been in the loin cloth of the emperor during battle
High grade AU strike and surface 4/5 for a hammered coin of its age
Lustrous, well centred 1,000 years old of history stunning coin and minted in Constantinople
£700 posted SD any questions any offers or exchanges please let me know
4.31g of gold high purity
Open to exchanges try me also got a watch and in non pms if someone wants to be creative on a deal
Kilo silver, Vic shield backs, world gold, nudes anything considered
A coin like this to grade is around 80 quid or so, and try and find one that hasn't been cleaned in the past 1,000 years or in poor condition, heavily circulated with no detail
How many are left ? Who knows ?
And before some helmet offers me spot the answer is no, this is not a star wars or marvel coin
Bit of history to the coin for those that can be arsed reading ! 😂
1068-1071 East Roman (Byzantine) AV Histomenon Nomisma coin
Issued under the rule of Romanus IV Diogenes, Emperor of the Byzantine Empire
During his reign he was determined to halt the decline of the Byzantine military and to stop Turkish incursions into the Byzantine Empire, but in 1071 he was captured and his army routed at the Battle of Manzikert
While still captive he was overthrown in a palace coup, and when released he was quickly defeated and detained by members of the Doukas family; in 1072, he was blinded and sent to a monastery, where he died of his wounds
Obverse features Emperors Constantine, Michael and Andronikos
Reverse depicts Emperor Romanus and Empress Eudocia on either side of Jesus Christ
Numista rarity of - 91 not because the coin is from the isle of Lesbos featuring prince Philip but because it is genuinely a rare ancient coin and deserves to fetch a reasonable price
No lube was used in this listing however inevitably this will change, I'm puckering up now

Gjergj Kastrioti, commonly referred to as Skanderbeg, was a feudal lord and military commander who led an offensive against the Ottoman Empire in an area which is today comprised of the countries of Albania, North Macedonia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia.
As a member of the Kastrioti family, Skanderbeg was sent as a hostage to the Ottoman court where he was educated and subsequently entered into the service of the Ottoman sultan. Skanderbeg served the Ottoman sultan for 20 years, rising through the ranks and eventually being appointed as sanjakbey (governor) of the Sanjak of Dibra in the year of 1440.
During the Battle of Niš in 1443, Skanderbeg deserted the Ottomans and became the ruler of Krujë and nearby territories stretching from central Albania. It is here where, in 1444, the small Albanian principalities and fiefdoms were united under Skanderbeg in the League of Lezhë.
Skanderbeg’s military competency and ferocity posed a considerable obstacle to Ottoman expansion in Europe, with many considering him to be a model of Christian resistance to Islam in the 15th century.
The obverse of this spectacular coin features a most extravagant bearded-effigy of Prince Skanderbeg which has become increasingly popular with collectors over the past three years. It’s easy to see why!
The reverse depicts a stoic winged Venetian lion, indicating the Venetian control over the city of Lezhë in which Albanians united under Skanderbeg.
A sublime coin with a fascinating history! 💫

Amoulsda12 got a reaction from Toshunya86 in 20 Franc Coins Of The LMU
These are not actually LMU spec coins but as its been referred to on this excellent thread before, here is the Montenegro 20 Perpera gold coin.
There are 2 versions of this denomination.
On the left, the commemorative issue coin to mark the 50 Anniversary of the Accession of King Nicola 1. Left facing laureate head portrait.
On the right, the standard circulation 20 Perpera distinguished by a right facing, bare head portrait. Reported mintages of both coins c. 30,000.
These are not in the finest condition but both coins are very hard to find now in any condition.
