  1. I'm sad to read this, you've brought some really good and unusual stuff to the forum, and have always been a pleasure to deal with. Good luck with everything in the future, and I hope one day we'll see you back here trading again! Life and family comes first.

Not having a good day. Just tried to buy the new Tudor Beasts coin from The Royal Mint. Thought this time I'd use my MBNA account instead. Guess what? Yep, payment blocked! Now doing the text-message dance. I just want to spend my wages goddamit!!

Just another voice adding to the noise about Barclays - never had an issue before today and I've done plenty of transactions with TSF, but trying to buy a Heraeus bar last night and this morning and been given the third degree by Barclays Fraud Squad. The first guy was a complete pompous p**** talked to me like I was simple. I had to ring them back and the lady I spoke to the second time was much better, but was still asking 1001 questions - they obviously get prompted by some sort of script on their IT system but they just couldn't seem to get their head around the idea of a forum for collectors. I even had to say to her that it's a damned sight safer than eBay. I think they'd just prefer that we could use PayPal so that they don't have to take the risk of having to refund a fraudulent transaction.
  6. The latest Queen's Virtues proof from the East India Company - "Charity"
  7. I got the same notification from my MBNA card.
  8. Today's delivery, the latest from the Queen's Virtues series from the East India Company. Comes in a really nice box, and a great looking coin beautifully struck.
  9. @BackyardBullion hello, I have just purchased 2020 #61 from @kimchi so I would like to reserve the same number for 2021, and take me off the waiting list if possible, please. Many thanks
  10. The route 66 ones sound interesting, I'll have a search. Last night I found some Bermuda silver proof coins, some $3 which depict another shipwreck series, and a $9 larger 5oz proof. Prices varying quite widely especially on the $9 one, it's listed on eBay for 250, 350 and 450 depending on seller. Thanks for the tips!
  11. Haha funny you should mention that - I just bought a 2020 Zuytdorp shipwreck - overpriced as you say, but it looks a beaut, and fills my triangle void!
  12. I've been enjoying watching Backyard Bullion on Youtube which lead me here! Always loved the idea of collecting metals - in particular I have a fascination for unusual coins, specifically coins of unusual shape or design. This probably sounds bizarre but as a kid I used to have weird dreams where I had strange coins in my pocket - I remember one triangle one that stands out vividly, and I've always been on the lookout for these in real life. I've never really had the means to purchase precious metals before, but at this time in my life I'm in a position to take a paddle in the shallow end! I'm also interested in non-precious, circulated coins of interest, not for any investment potential but just for the interest and enjoyment. I realise I have a bit to learn, but plan on taking it slowly and enjoying the learning process. See you all around!
