  1. I apologise if this has been asked many times before, i did a rudimentary search but didnt really find what i was looking for. Obviously, in the uk, silver, platinum and paladium all are considered industrial metals, and as such, we pay 20% vat. Absolutely no way around this?? Of course i can go to ebay or something, but i would prefer to buy them from a reputable dealer, whether second hand or not i dont mind, but i don't want to risk getting something fake. Also, just being a little ocd, i want all my bars to be the same. I heard something called the special scheme, im not sure exactly how it works, its something to do with selling second hand items, where the sales tax would only apply to the premium, not the whole bar. Any place to buy bars with this? Baird and co do something like this? Otherwise, what would you recommend i do, stick with gold entirely? Eat the cost? Eat the cost but keep the amount of silver, platinum and palladium small relative to gold?
