I too am waiting for the next coin in the series. Would be sweet if they kept on with the mythical creatures.

They are probably waiting for more animals to go extinct due to human behavior. And/or waiting for any cool olden myths to die from current fact checkers.

I think the pandemic will have raised the general prices of metals permanently. A new normal price higher than the old and in the uk brexit will also affect the price too. The change of the design will be an important milestone in such a coin hence the hype and frenzy approch will intice the general masses to buy some too with huge premium the masses think they are buying something of collector value!

Agree that design is nice, but premium is really too high for a bullion coin with unlimited mintage.  Prefer to have Royal Arm, or Perth Mint Swan or Dolphin with that premium.

Nothing obvious. Makes the premiums being asked 2nd hand for the older, much nicer (in my opinion), design almost palatable! 🤣

Seeing premiums of 80% + on these new coins. When will the madness end? Anyone seen it for less or are we destined to pay almost double the spot worth for any silver coins from now on. Makes stacking pretty much a hobby rather than a sound investment.

IPA is used to clean gold plated electronic contacts, so maybe dipping it in a bath of that after the soapy wash would get rid of any soapy residues and prevent water spots as it would evaporate away cleanly.

Gold Buffalo's back in stock at Coinvest. Bit saucy at ~€250 over spot but they are a beautiful coin and very hard to source now.

It amazes me when they pull gold coins from Rome out the ground and they are still in good condition!

Sure hindsight is always best. Best thing I learnt over the years - cost averaging. I just set a date and bought Bitcoin every 2 weeks no matter the price. And you can see the Bitcoin chart now  Doing the same with metals and stocks. As long as the bull market keeps going I will always win. Of course if we enter a bear market, if I just keep buying the average comes down with it. And ir doesn't have to be big money either - just throw some in that you will not miss (1% of salary even). Not financial advice, but talking from own experience. Gotta look at it long term.

I think this just judging by the way my brittanias sold on Ebay the week AFTER the short squeeze.
Tons of bids and I sold them for quite a profit - I think I sold 3 lots for £150-200 profit?

Many bag holders I think, stop losses will start getting hit etc.
Plus its the end of the financial year - 10 minutes will be interesting - red all round I recon.
And yes Bitcoin is taking the limelight, but when that crashes back to 30k gold and silver will have its day.
Probably around the time of stimulus package finishing and loads of people get sacked and evicted. Q4
My one issue with physical silver as an asset to trade with is it can mark/milk over time, takes up loads of space & takes time to shift, not to mention the risk of shipping or getting robbed. Silver mining stocks is way to go with a liquid 'asset' that should goes directly inline with the spot price and beyond especially with the decent juniors. Other investor sentiment comes into play, so if there is a mad panic like there was with Comstock / Lode the other day, you can see grossly over inflated margins. Im sure it was over 300%!! Crazy. Scalpers, day traders and swing traders.

Thankfully I sold all my silver stocks the other week, I only own one now.
Lets hope we see £14 silver again as I will be backing up the truck, well, digital wallet LOL.
But as I have said I made money buying a selling physical, but its a real faff.
Platinum too - I will probably buy into a physical ETF as Im very bullish on that.

Come on Bitcoin get your arse in gear so I can get shot of you (especially the blockchain stocks). 😛

With Basel 3 coming into effect in June I'm inclined to think prices of silver and gold are being kept low/pushed lower so banks can hoover up cheap metal to cover the 85% reserved funding requirement for derivatives. It'll be interesting to see what happens post June 28th.

It's not really a store of value though is it? Gold is a far better store of value. Silver is currently at the same price as 30 years ago while everything else costs 3+ times more! I have no illusions about silver as an investment - I buy it cause I like owning physical (real) money. I never bought it to get rich. But I do believe in the laws of supply and demand and its very possible there will be a silver squeeze sometime in my life. So for now, I hold, covet and admire my stash.

Its looking like Janet yelled might increase the interest rates so nomreturn metals are being sold to purchase bonds, added to hedge funds having to clear out after the bloodshed on shorts taking some to the woodshed is being felt globally, everyone's after returns, even investment funds are running now in buying shares in baseball cards, basketball, soccer etc showing returns of 300% in 7 months in 9ne case i read...either way, slow gold just isn't giving anything in return for right now which is a great time to get in, when people run out you run in unless you smell smoke.
