SamsonDD reacted to James32 in 2022 sovereigns seem to be harder to find in stock. I'm thinking about 1oz Brits. Good or bad idea?
1oz Britannias will never be hard to shift if priced right tbh. Yes sovereigns will sell quickest due to having a bigger buyers pool ( affordability) but 1oz gold coins within say 2% premium will still sell relatively quickly.
In saying all of the above, I certainly wouldn't go out and solely stack 1oz coins, but a mixture of both won't harm you. Yes you could wait on the 2023 sovereigns ( likely a delay on them now) but what will the price of gold be at then? Could be lower or substantially higher.
My advice, would be to grab a 1oz coin now and leave it a week to see if anyone gets stock in of sovereigns.

SamsonDD reacted to LawrenceChard in 2022 2023 UK Coins Queen Elizabeth II King Charles III Changeover Forecast Résumé
2022 2023 UK Coins Queen Elizabeth II King Charles III Changeover Forecast Résumé
In the absence of any meaningful information from the Royal Mint, I will attempt to summarise the most likely situation for UK coins:
    2022 Circulation Issues
All normal circulation issues of coins will continue to be for QEII and dated 2022 until at least the end of the year (2022), and are likely to continue in production and issues into January 2023 or later. This is standard practice at most mints worldwide.
    2022 Bullion Issues
As with circulation coins, we expect gold, silver, and platinum bullion coin issues to continue with QEII portrait and titles, at least until the year end, and probably into early 2023. This will include Britannias and sovereigns.
    2022 Commemorative Issues
This is slighly more difficult to forecast. Most commemorative coins which have already been approved (by The Privy Council) will be dated 2022 and have the queen's portrait. There may be some other commemorative coin issues which have been planned, but not approved. Whether these will gain approval is uncertain, but there is no real reason they should not be.
    2023 King Charles Coins
The adoption of a new portrait for Charles is likely to be a lengthy process. The Royal Mint are likely to create a shortlist of potential portraits based on photographs, paintings, or sculpture. The RM is assisted by The Royal Mint Advisory Committee. Potential portraits will need to be approved by H.M. King Charles, and the Privy Council. Once designs are approved, then "masters" will be prepared, followed by dies. All stages are likely to be subject to approval. The earliest likely date for release would be 1st January 2023.
    2023 Circulation Issues
It is almost certain that no 2023 circulation coins will be produced of issued with the queen's portrait and titles.
All 2023 dated circulation will be be in the name of King Charles II, and bear his portrait.
We could see these start to enter circulation as early as January 2023, but it could be later in the year.
    2023 Bullion Issues
Subject to the approval process outlined above, it is possible that precious metal bullion issues could commence for Charles III dated 2023, as early as January, although it could be later.
    2023 Commemorative Issues - QEII
Most TSF members will already be aware that two 2023 commemorative issues have already been released with the queens portrait and titles, with a third one imminent. There may be a small number of other issues which have already received approval, and that will therefore be issued as planned, however some may be delayed, cancelled, or changed.
2023 Commemorative Issues - Charles III
It is certain that most 2023 UK commemorative coin issues will be in the name of our new king, Charles III. As with most commemoratives, these will be issued throughout  the year. The earliest could be as early as January 2023, but might be delayed.
It is possible that 2023 mint and proof coins sets could be issued in the last months of 2022, but this remains uncertain at best.
2023 Commemorative Issues - Charles III QEII Memorial
It is certain that the RM will produce a range of memorial or Celebration of Life commemorative coins for Queen Elizabeth II, dated 2023, and bearing King Charles III portrait on the obverse.
While these could be issued as early as January, I think it likely that these will follow later. They are almost certain to precede the Coronation.
2023 King Charles III Coronation Issues
I had originally omitted this. It must be too early to guess when King Charles Coronation will take place, but undaunted I will take a stab at June. When it occurs, there are sure to be a proliferation of commemorative coin issues by the UK, and other countries including the Commonwealth. It seems highly likely that QEII Memorial issues will precede any Coronation ones.
    Omissions
Please let me know if you think I have missed anything out.

Same Coin Different Niton XRF Machine Test Results
We recently bought this very worn 1907-L gold sovereign in as scrap.

    Reverse above, Obverse below:

Staff suspected it was fake, so we tested it:

The gold content shown is too low, but there is an anomaly.
Thee is a significant amount of platinum showing, 12 and 7 parts per thousand respectively. I have seen similar reading before, and suspect it is a glitch with our machine, probably in the algorithm which tries to interpret the raw data. Sometimes a re-test gives a "clean" result, often after a quick recalibration, which we did not perform at the time.
In one sense, it was not important to know whether this coin was fake or genuine, because it was so badly worn, we were only ever going to scrap it, but in another sense, it is usually worthwile trying to learn to distinguish fakes.
I was shown the coin, for my opinion, and I believe it is genuine.
It just so happened that our own Niton machine had been packed up ready to be sent for its (very expensive) annual service, so we had a newer looking loan machine.
I re-tested it, with these results:

You can see that the reported gold sontent is slightly higher, although still a tiny amount short of its expected range.
Our staff wtill wanted my opinion on whether it was fake or genuine.
I still believe it is genuine, but with a coin so worn, it may be almost impossible to be certain, and ultimately not worth investing too much time and effort on.
It did decide that we should invest a little more resource into photographing it, for the educational value.
These photos must be some of the best photos ever taken of such a bad coin!

A Tale of Two Sovereigns - Both 1928-SA One Genuine One Fake
These two gold sovereigns turned up on the same day.
1928 is quite common, particularly from the Pretoria, South Africa Mint.
Both attracted extra interest and scrutiny for our team, and got passed over for me to check:

This had been tagged as "weird" or similar. It did look slightly unusual, perhaps a little yellower than many George V sovereigns. It still looked OK to me, but I asked for photos to make it easier to study.
    Heres is the obverse:

I was concerned about what looked like pimples. Raised pimples in particulalr are a bad sign, usually arising from rusty dies.
On the niton test result sheet, I noted "grainy":

    39.878 cts = 7.9756 grams
The gold content is a tiny bit high, and the silver content at 6 ppt, is also slightly high, but for a branch mint it was not totally unexpected, and would help to explain the yellow colour.
4 to 6 ppt would have been in line with my expectations.
I am happy the coin is genuine.
The other 1928 SA was different:

    What can you see?
I see what looks like a weak strike. The whole surface is very grainy, and there are some raised pimples. Undoubtedly fake, but quite a good one compared with many. The date numerals look a little squashed.

Again, it appears to be a weak strike, but the raised areas look slightly worn. There are obvious raised pimples, a grainy surface, and mushy looking lettering. Fake!
Of course, we did a Niton XRF test:

You might note that I had written FAKE on the description before I tested it.
The gold content is too low.
The silver content would be right on an 1887 London Mint Jubilee Head, but wrong on this coin.
The trace of Cadmium is a bad sign.
39.909 cts = 7.9818 grams, so it's weight is good, despite the signs of possible wear.
The alloy analysis was not necessary on this fake, but interesting and educational.
On the top coin, the high quality photos helped, although I had already concluded that it was genuine. Viewing the zoomed photos at the same time as the actual coin is often very useful, albeit a bit of a luxury.
I could be wrong. It might be an extremely good fake.
I often wonder if it's worth getting a coin like this "slabbed" just to see if it gets queried, or accepted without comment.

We were offered 5,000 today for June delivery by a major distributor, but they were about £1 each more than our usual cost premium, so we declined. The distributor said no problem they could easily sell them to a US dealer. We prefer not to increase our selling premiums. We did say we would take 10,000 20,000 or more to get the right price, but no deal.
This helps to explain why you can usually get some if you don't mind paying a higher price, but to my mind, it does not make good sense to pay more than necessary when investing.

    https://catalog.usmint.gov/

Can you buy some Royal Mint coins off their website that are not an arm and a leg?
What i can see on the mint sites is highly priced coins. Good business selling these i suspect.
If the mints completely shut up shop then this telegraphs to the whole world that it has hit the fan. But there have been problems. At the US mint they put it down to changing the ASE design - yeah right. Here we see problems at the Austrian mint.
i went to Atkinson's to see what the situation was with monster boxes of Britannias.
    https://atkinsonsbullion.com/silver/silver-coins/2021-silver-coins/2021-uk-britannia-1oz-silver-coin-monster-box-of
i found that uninformative when i could crank up my cart so high it was more than all the available silver in the world.

The mints have got to keep producing sets of coins. The dealers have got to have some coins or else it becomes obvious to everyone looking. The Royal Mint stops producing any coins? A spokesman said we have stopped making coins for the foreseeable future. That isn't going to happen - it is a triple red flag and it isn't going to happen until there is no silver at all.

Well that is the risk i take. Your situation sounds a bit different to mine.
i move across borders - moving silver is not easy since Brexit. You could end up paying taxes or getting it confiscated. With some of my silver in Kinesis i can move it without moving it. i can get it delivered wherever i want and i can sell it at the click of a mouse or spend it on a card. It makes sense to keep some of my silver in this format. i've worked with the people running this for several years - i have personally chatted to the CEO. i have bought - sold and taken the cash more than once. i agree holding it is good but for ALL your metal i don't think it is necessarily the best.

    Silver Bullion Coin Supply Update
We went to buy more 2021 silver Britannias today, only to be told:
"2021 Silver Britannias - Major Supply Issues at the (Royal) Mint From xxx - 'The mint are having major production issues on silver at the moment so we are temporarily halting silver Britannia orders until we get some clear guidance on when more coins will be available. I will reach out to you again once we can offer these coins.'"   and  from yyy also not able to take orders on silver brits, citing the same issues as above.   You are probably all aware there have been supply problems for the last year or more with supply of silver bullion coins. We recently thought it was getting better, but the above news sank our hearts slightly.   I shared that information with a number journalists, asking if they know any more, and whether this was just at the British Royal Mint, or a worldife problem. One answer included:   "In a message released Friday, May 28, we made reference to a global shortage of silver. In more precise terms, the silver shortage being experienced by the United States Mint pertains only to the supply of silver blanks among suppliers to the U.S. Mint.

Please see the updated message below reflecting this clarification.

The United States Mint is committed to providing the best possible online experience to its customers. The Mint is being impacted by silver blank shortages among its suppliers. The demand for many of our bullion and numismatic products is at record heights and increasingly outpacing the supply of silver blanks available through our suppliers. This level of demand is felt most acutely by the Mint during the initial product release of numismatic items. Most recently in the pre-order window for 2021 Morgan Silver Dollars with Carson City privy mark (21XC) and New Orleans privy mark (21XD), the extraordinary volume of web traffic caused significant numbers of Mint customers to experience website anomalies that resulted in their inability to complete transactions."   We don't know what the main problem is at the British Royal Mint, but we did get similar responses about a month ago, but we were then able to buy a few days later. (I think we are still waiting for these to arrive). If I get to hear any more, I will relay it, but meanwhile it sounds like things are not getting back to normal as quickly as I thought.

These terms right and left are corrupted terms. It's two wings of the same bird.
I think there's better terms to categorize this deliberate divide and conquer agenda

    Wise/Fool
    Leader/follower
    Right/Wrong
    Moral/Immoral

Or something along these lines? The status quo labels and categorizations are there to divide us against each other and weaponize the social fabric of society, so their terms are always corrupted and weaponized for political objectives. This is the whole purpose of PC, to make lies hidden or acceptable by whitewashing the nature with deceptive terminology. Anyone with their eyes open can see it, I'm aware you see it.

I embrace authority only when it's not seeking to undermine or contradict my God Given Rights, as rare as it is. Otherwise I may consent only under it's duress of threat of menaces and harm, but that doesn't make any lawful contract so I'm not in agreement or serving presumed authority which is only maintained through threat of force and menaces.

It is nothing but a presumed authority if against inherent rights. That presumed authority acting unjustly, is really polarizing currently and ramping up, it wont't rest till it has destroyed everything good. But I think it's got so bold and blatantly evil that it's revealing just how insane it is and without cause.

It will destroy it'self, evil will destroy evil and those stupid enough to follow it's deceptions and treasonous acts. Natural selection I guess will be a wave that catches some by surprise?

PS. if you observe the all seeing eye symbol it is the "left" eye, and the matrix movie they give you the "red" pill, red is the color of communism and the left that's no coincidence that the matrix was full of deliberate corruptions of the true reality while pretending to reveal them.

So, as for the matrix it is revealing but it's corrupted, to give you two controlled choices that lead to the same hell that they want to make here on earth, if not already bad enough. I was awakened well before it came out and was not interested in movies because I knew they were all programming, but it did have some interesting symbology. It's worldly and made by the dark side.

I took the the path of the Truth, the Way and the Life, Jesus and the Spirit of Almighty Living God since 2016, and I ask it guide me in the truth of all matters each day. Everything in the world and those led by it are corrupted, I like to remind myself this because it's always trying to hook us back in, but it never can when you've found and built a solid foundation in reality and the truth.
The evil of this world and of people, showed me to this path, the only way I can reconcile this hell we live in was to find and humble myself to God, ironically that makes one even more hated and attacked but it's worth it because it's right, to me anyway and many others. That helped me know who I truly am and not let the worlds and peoples attacks and trespasses on me bother me or in any way define me, it freed me immensely.

As I've said before loving God and Jesus has nothing to do with religion, man made religion and it was forbidden, it's nothing more than man tempting to be the Government of God to wage war on God and Creation. In the end all secrets will be exposed and the truth will not be hidden anymore. Soon I hope.

For sure if you were to read all my posts you would see i am hard right by the true definition. i am something of an anarchist. i am anti the cesspit Leftist, woke traitorous perverts that are running riot and sham government fronting up the control system we have right now. i expect if you were to quiz most of The Silver Forum's members you would find the majority are something like me - perhaps not always as 'extreme' but very much in that direction. i am often getting messages from 'watchers'.

i think a number of members just haven't got what #silversqueeze is about. They see ulterior motives and manipulators - when it is just getting old and new silverbugs to join in a big group and buy bits of silver with a common goal of getting a bit of silver and maybe breaking the precious metal cartel.

I think it is a bit questionable to say those who are fighting for the manipulated price to correct to it's true value is "manipulation" if it is wouldn't that be just, considering it is a response to financial corruption, which everybody knows is rampant in the markets.
Sure the Silver dealers have talked up, but I think that's based on sound reason and the fact that the market cant beat the shorters until the demand exceeded supply. Covid and the inflation epidemic coming through wanton money printing has given a window to break the manipulation I think if someone has helped protect peoples investments by getting them out of the paper and into the physical market, they deserve their wage.

Sure, dealers like yourself stand to profit from this by it's nature, but this again is only the product of the metal being manipulated in value for too too long, it's not their fault but they are in a good place to capitalize on it and so they should, they work very hard for it and I'm sure you agree in essence. So people fighting to see the market be honest and accountable are not the problem, but a response to the problem, they are not to blame but people will scapegoat them.
One day the spruikers will be congratulated for foreseeing the outcome and helping people get in at the right time.
The silver ratios make good sense as a buy factor, but as does the whole global economy and world situation has never been such a motivating factor to get in. Can they keep the fiat system going, well see. I'd rather have something real for my fake paper/plastic. We may never see such high GS ratio as we have previously, that's my bet. Were on the cusp of a new breakout if they can't hold it back, I truly believe it. If it doesn't break highs then that doesn't mean I'm wrong just that they maintain the manipulation.

I hope the Silver Squeeze fight back even harder, as this is not over yet, it's a war between good and evil as usual. Evil never rests.

I understand that starting a legal raises a red flag and I gave that thought before I posted Adams email here, however so far he's been fighting for silver, for truth and accountability, and the bad guys are making a move on him, it's fair he start a legal fund and people who do their due diligence may support it if they feel it's right and helping bring a true value to the market. So it's fair to give the guy a chance.

As i say i believe John Adams is doing a good job by bring the scam of unallocated precious metal vaulting to a much wider audience. i have posted about this for a few years on the forum. That eventually the suppression of the precious metal markets through paper metal will blow up once enough people realise the scam and take action. John Adams is part of #silversqueeze by doing just that. If he is getting some profit out of it - then good luck to him - we all have to earn to live - his message is true and needs to be heard.
If exposing the unallocated vaulting scam as a scam is his agenda then i support him. i would say the way he went at Peter Schiff for selling unallocated Perth Mint holdings was a bit OTT. It felt too personal to my liking but otherwise i don't see what he has done wrong.
Perth Mint was backstopping the COMEX with metal during the early days of the silver squeeze - this is why they ran dry. The Perth Mint said they have a ton of silver - as i remember 60 tonnes but when it came to delivery customers silver the cupboard was bare. They put out videos showing lots on silver but on close inspection those with eagle eyes spotted these videos were years old. They didn't have the silver and tried to hoodwink the public.
If i had an employee going on a crusade albeit i supported what was said and he was running into legal expenses i am not sure i would be at the front of the queue to pay for this. If any money raised is spent on legal expenses there is no con.
Highlighting the wrongdoing on Perth Mint is not a con. If he is constantly exposing the truth of a situation this is not a con. It is troublesome to those he is attacking but it doesn't mean Adams is wrong.
Bullion dealers play a very small role in Wall Street Silver - #silversqueeze. It is dominated by private people.

Imagine the scene when manufacturers start trying to buy and it gets harder and harder to 'find' in the vaults.  I ain't selling for 'spot'... all of a sudden they're buying more FOR more and price moves higher and higher.  Silver will be valued differently at that point.
Of course this isn't happening in a vacuum and said cabal are obviously scheming away on a plethora of underhanded plots as we speak so who knows how it ends.  However it ends, I hope jail time is involved.  All we can do is slay this beast immediately in front of us and move on to the next one.

The COMEX is the Commodities (and Futures) Exchange.
It is a division of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME).
This is where futures contracts are traded. People buy and sell contracts based on what they think will happen to the price of whatever it is.
The COMEX has actually been setting the second by second price of gold and silver since the 1970's. COMEX precious metal futures trading was set up to keep Americans away from actual physical gold. This came out in one of Wikileaks data dumps. Americans are prohibited from dealing on the spot market in London.
The banks can manipulate price by selling millions of ounces of metal in seconds to minutes. This is how price can and does fall off a cliff. They rinse out other traders and then cover their shorts for profit. At the same time as making profits they keep precious metal prices suppressed. This is what the likes of the Federal Reserve has wanted and as they are doing the bidding of the central planners the banks 'can get away with murder.'
These millions of ounces of metal do not exist. The banks sell metal they don't have. Metal that doesn't and couldn't exist in the amounts traded. There can be no fair price discovery. This hits the small investor who wants to save in metal and it hits the miners who don't get the prices they deserve. Some of the banks have built up very large short positions - when price goes up a lot it get very costly. It could blow some of them up. Bullion banks selling unallocated metal haven't had the metal. They take the money, pretend there is metal in the vaults, even charge for vaulting and insurance - when there never was any metal in the first place. Hundreds of millions of ounces of metal that doesn't exist. The banks have taken the money and used it elsewhere. It is a massive scam. If enough demand their metal they are exposed - as Perth Mint was expose, as ABC Bullion in Australia was exposed, as Kitco in Canada got caught out. All the bullion banks have been at it as well. If people take their money (they won't get the metal) and then buy physical this will cause the massive unallocated scam to collapse. It will collapse the whole thing b/c there are 100's of ounces of paper for actual physical.
This system of paper manipulation can only work as long as there is enough physical to keep the minority who actually need metal happy. If they can manage that it can go on and on and on - which is what has been happening. The fly in the ointment is when the physical available gets drained. This is what #silversqueeze is about. Draining physical out of the system. Switching from SLV which pretends it is buying and vaulting physical to Sprott PSLV which is buying and vaulting physical. Investing in the likes of Kinesis which is developing a precious metal monetary system. Stacking your own physical. Pulling millions of ounces out of the hands of the cabal. Week after week after week. Grinding them down. Death by a thousand cuts.
