Anyone else find this thread odd?
Ask a load of question (which are all answered on the dealers website) and then criticise the answers.
    No please, no thank you.

I could help but I don't like the OP's line of questioning.
Not a single please or thank you in the whole thread.
Perhaps the rudest member on TSF, after myself of course.

    Nope.
Gold reserves are usually in the form of "Good Delivery Bars" which have a weight of about 400oz's so more like 12kgs.
    1kg bars are for retail

I am not sure what anyone else thinks but we thought the SOTD's came in really cheap boxes, so we though we would supply our remaining few like this. We think the coin deserves a proper case :

TringSilver reacted to BleyerBullion in Ethically sourced gold - opinions
    Hi Everyone
Thanks to @stefffana for raising this interesting topic on the subject of ethics.
As a few people have mentioned, we had a technical issue on our site that meant that the 2022 Sovereign was sold unintentionally at below cost prices. Many people spotted this and benefitted from the error, costing us a couple of thousand pounds or more. As has been mentioned, we could have cancelled the orders (as per our Ts and Cs), but as an act of goodwill, decided that more could be gained from taking a hit, rather than upsetting several good customers and some newbies we hope to retain. I can assure you that as owner of the business, I absorbed the full loss and whenever there is an error that costs us money, I pay the price personally. Sorry to the people who approached us the following week, wanting us to sell more to them at the old wrong price, sadly my generosity could not extend that far.
For those who set out to comb sites for underpriced products, we do have to deal with this on a case by case basis, but will always err on the side of the customer whenever we can.
Regarding ethics generally, we do some good by commissioning charity bars and rounds from @BackyardBullion who have made some beautiful Owl bars and the Unity Rounds which we sold to raise money for metal health charities. Bullion companies have benefitted from additional interest
I also like the idea of the Valcambi green, ethical bars and plan to stock them when supplies become a bit more stable. We sell a lot of Baird bars too, materials for which are also ethically sourced but they don't shout about it. Their bars are made from recycled metals taken largely from the jewellery industry.
    Have a great week everyone!

A platinum Britannia bar would be a very cool thing to own, in my opinion.  I'd love a 1 oz one.
Shame that the price of platinum is going North at the moment.  If it drops back below £750 ish, I may be very tempted by one of these bars.

I have an issue with my portrait as well and it will be going back.
I had the same with Quarter Arms as well and I spoke to CS, they said no go for a replacement which was annoying and probably illegal in some fashion.
However, I just used the online method and printed a label and sent it back with no dealings with any people and got a new (decent) one sent back shortly after!
Am going to do the same with Portrait.

My account manager at the mint called me today to see if I wanted a Plain Edge Portrait as he had a few going spare. He offered them to me for spot price as they were struggling to flog them. I told him no and suggested he call Chards but that they must first sort their ethics out.
He said they would do their best but Jones in the Wheatsheaf has already promised a few to the local tourists for three packets of Rothmans and £25k each and they were interested.

Nine pages. This thread is nine pages long.
All because someone didn’t get what they wanted from the Royal Mint and want to now take the whole system down AFTER paying for the coins on the secondary market.

As I posted way way back now.
    ' Buyer beware '
it applies to any dealing you do with any one person on any day every day of your living life,
from buying your bread and milk on a morning in date
To picking your takeaway so you don't get the two Bob bits
To repairing a roof or buying a car
or taking speculative punts of lumpy shiny metal
