Excluded.....you have spot which is currently £16.95 + vat = £20.34.....the rest is dealers/mints premium.
    Hence cheaper buying on here.

After posting back a proof set I noted that after 1 month I heard nothing from the royal mint.

I have since discovered communication back is not customary and you have to followup as to what happened with your coins.

I can see from SD post that coins were received, that’s about it.

What happened to getting back to your customers? 🤔

    THE LESSON
Make sure you know you have to followup with the mint rather than the other way around, yes even if you spend £10k+ regularly with them.

Hi forum members. I've had an interest in numismatic coins and precious metals (mainly antique silver) for many years. Buying from jumbles, car boot sales, junk shops when i could, then from ebay when it came along.
I have been into bullion stacking since about 2014 because I liked the idea of owning some of the .999 silver content Britannia's ready for a "sure thing" mega return after the horrendous price plummet of the time (having been unaware of their existence in 2013).
Still stacking So filling some of my time with some like minded people, and perhaps doing some trade or deals sometime in the future.
Take a quick look at this new 2022 Brit. that escaped R.M. quality control. Great detailed strike but Its so off center struck it has completely ruined the milled edge. I know that its only bullion but Its practically an error/reject. If I didn't know what I was looking at I would think it to be a bit iffy. Hope they get their act together soon.
Thank you for letting me join,
     Much love, F.

    Correct.
This is one of the reasons I take care of myself. I say this to my pals who are all settled down and married up, they eat terrible, tired and worn down. Constantly stressed the lot and have the lazy thinking.
I know they cant be arsed with my p*sh half the time with this but I tell them, what they going to do if sh*t hits the fan in the UK-WW3 or a type of civil war in Europe or around tbe West? Typical response "WW2 is done, stop being paraniod" etc
This is bigger and more demanding than ever. And people can attempt to deny it all they want but men now are getting more feminine by the year.
This is all going to come ahead in one case or another but to the conditioned mind its perceived as impossible because they will live through it.
    Mark my words.

I have not followed this at all closely but suspect that there is only one outcome, which will simply be to raise the debt ceiling.  Governments just cant get out of their borrow and spend habits....
If not, we are 'off to the races' and October will be turbulent. Good for banks (volatility is low at the moment and trading volumes have dropped so they would like a bit more up ' down), bad news for bond and stock holders, and I suspect good for gold.
Looking at the US Debt numbers (again) just makes me more certain that gold is worth holding long term.

This is the problem, you should never invest in anything you don't understand; otherwise how can you know when to buy/hold/sell?
You bought at the top and this is characteristic of the crowd who lump into an investment after a big rise, without understanding what they are buying, why they are buying it, and what the long term prospects are.
It's usually a sign of listening to pumpers and a serious case of FOMO.
I would suggest you hold until you can research a little about your chosen market and why people buy gold. After that, you may be in a position to make your own decision, but if you're constantly worrying about how much you may or may not have lost, you should sell and invest in something you understand. Failing all else, take the previous advice and buy some solid blue chips for the stability and dividends.
I doubt you will do that though, as I suspect you really want a get rich quick investment🙄

    Hi Johny,
Just my thoughts and of course everyone is different in their outlook and thoughts.
    (1) I buy to hold - pretty much most things (including metals) are bought for the long term i.e. to keep for 10+ years.
    (2) Personally, I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories around bankrupting everyone deliberately.  Having worked in Investment Banking for 20+ years, I can confidently tell you that they are very much less organised and planed than you would ever believe, I understand the same is true for most governments who they advise.
    (3) Markets go up and down and it is hard to predict what they will do - its a gamble.  I assume you are talking about Robert Kiyosaki who has been pumping out PR about market crashes.  I haven't looked to see if he is promoting a new book or product, but do remember that this 'wizard' has had a couple of companies go bankrupt under his ownership.  He now specialises in telling people how to make money......as his career.
    (4) I think everyone really needs to do their own education and research around investment decisions.  The same research department / commentators can (and often do) predict a bull and bear market in the same WEEK!  People on social media etc often have an agenda - I ignore this and look at broad market fundamentals

Do you know why the London Stock exchange is delayed by 15 minutes? To get the live feed you need a 80k A year Bloomberg terminal. Its only for the few. So you cant trade real time by then you could have missed the opportunity, thnink long and hard how that works with comex and LMBA banks..... They have it rigged. its one big club and you and i aint in it! But Also if you just went long shorting silver you'd make lot of money over time, because it part of the game to cover the shot gun wounds with plasters.....

There are an increasing number of people who are living in multi-generational accommodation. This was quite normal in the past but has developed a bit of a stigma. We hear the smear that someone or other is living in their mother's basement. Personally i don't see a problem with it.
It is still a bit too early for me to recommend Kinesis but i am mentioning it.
i have posted about it on the forum before as some people will no doubt know.
This is a gold and silver currency system. It is just about starting to take off. On 6th May the Indonesian post office will officially launch their involvement which is based on the KAU. the gold side of the Kinesis money system. The Indonesian government views this as a project of national importance.
i am hoping the first yields will be paid out in the next few weeks. There are several different yields which come from the fees for using the system.
You can hold value inside the Kinesis Monetary System as gold and silver and get a yield for simply holding the metal in the system.
At some point this year the KEM token will be launched where each KEM is title of ownership over 1 carat of emeralds. These will pay a guaranteed 4% yield paid in KAU's (gold).
There is quite a bit more to this and as i say it is still a bit too early for me to properly recommend it - when the system starts spitting out yields then it will be different.
The bonuses are the yields are paid in KAU and KAG, gold and silver plus there is a debit card, so you can spend your tokens anywhere there is a VISA sign.

I have a new job, (first time I have had a fixed income in years) and I am able to save about 15k a year.
I have no house/ no mortgage - and at 37 years old me and my partner are STILL living with my parents - I am pretty ashamed to admit that but its the truth. I am determined to get out ASAP but realistically its going to take a few years maybe more... We don't want to get trapped in the rental trap. and end up with no property to rely on when we need to retire. I could move out next week and pay rent but then what am i going to do when I am to old to work? will be screwed. The long suffering parents are great about it and can see what we are trying to do, very supportive - but I think I need to get out within a couple of years for thier sake so they can have a well earnt retirement , I think I will just go into rented if I cant get a mortgage like everyone else has too.
I have circa 15K in savings spread across multiple assets (no cash) - plus a 2020 car fully paid (sensible car - honda jazz)
We have opened lifetime ISAs and can get a 20% topup on anything we deposit, however can only be used to buy first house or for retirement or there is a 25% penalty on withdrawals.
Money in the bank seems useless, but if house prices keep increasing we may never get accepted for a mortgage.
If you was in my situation how would you allocate savings? I dont want to speculate on crypto - I already have some.
Im thinking shove everything on premium bonds till the end of the tax year, then withdraw and max out Lifetime ISA and hope for a correction in property prices one day but I really dont know.
    Open too all suggestions!

I think we gold bugs often overlook a very important social point. I can only speak for the UK here by the way.
But I don't think most people think of gold as money. People know gold has value but it's generally viewed as simply jewellery, and a couple of old coins etc. I suspect many people are quite happy to liquidate it for what they consider 'real money' (fiat currency - ironically).
Bitcoin does something else, kind of like stocks/shares or a bank account of sorts. I guess people think of it as an investment vehicle, a quick shot to turn a profit, kind of like gambling/playing the lottery, money in the bank. I just think as a model it fits into what people expect of money in the modern world.
Perhaps the Keynesians have just been very successful at removing gold from its recognised role as real money, in the eyes of the majority of the population. They've clearly failed with us of course, but what percentage of the population think like we do, or can see gold for what it truly is?
This is of course is a cultural thing. Go to India and the situation is very, very different of course. Gold is and always has been valued.
