It would be nice if everyone could just accept milk spots as par-for-the-course and therefor make no difference to grade or value. Premium silver would be much less stressful...
In an ideal world, it would be a bonus, like colourful toning. The milkier the better. You could even have special slab labels with milk bottles, or the milky bar kid. One day...

Yes, was definitely a gouge. I'm just fed up with all the issues I've had with almost everything I've had from the RM.
I looked at my QB 1oz silver proof ‘completer’ coin the other day, only to discover it now has loads of milk spots!

My replacement QB 1/4 silver set arrived today, was all looking fairly good until I inspected the final coin!
Have returned for a refund, no more proof coins for me.

I too have returned my set for a refund, even though they were an improvement over what I had received initially. I also question if they were "re-struck" and can't see how anyone is actually checking them before being sent out. My replacement set had a few scratches, milk spots and lots of beard shavings, and not one of the capsules was fully closed. 
I've now given up on proof coins, where's the joy in having to deal with all of this each time!

Just a heads up.... After purchasing an item from RM I got an email from Feefo for a “Review your recent experience with The Royal Mint”...
As I had issues with quality control, I responded accordingly with notes about disappointment and quality control etc. Minimum rating was set at 1* (Bad) and I subsequently rated all previous question accordingly, however when the next question came up about what I liked about the coin, I was honest and rated the particular coin design as 5*
On checking the comments after completion, Feefo’s website listed my review as 5* based on just one comment !!!!!! 🤬.
Please make sure if you do a review, make everything 1* to reflect your actual comments if service has been poor.
 
 

Without Jody Clark the RM Commemorative arm of the business would be stuffed.

I may be newer than some of you, maybe 4 years or so. The Royal Mint seems to agree they dont pass their quality standards as they are restriking them.
I even think Lawrence was sending his silver proof set back due to milk spots.
It's OK for us to have different levels of acceptance on brand new proof coins.
Provided the Royal Mint provide me with a better set, restruck or otherwise, which they say they are going to do, then I am happy.
