    @theman73 & @ArgentSmith,
Interesting exchange of views. I don't know about other subscribers to the thread (obviously!), but I'm seesawing with every post - you both make good points! 👍
My view is that while silver and gold are clearly correlated, central banks and governments don't buy silver - they buy gold. This is the prime reason for the expanding ratio between the two metals and why gold is hitting all time highs while silver isn't doing much. But, I do believe silver's time will come. Namely, when the $USD collapses - which it surely will - at which point the distance between the metal and 'da moon' will shorten significantly. Just my £0.02p worth!

I have taken some much better clearer pics of the East India gold proof guinea coins today, I carefully took the capsule lid off for taking the pics of each side, they both look pretty good, I would not say completely mint, but pretty close to it, no fingerprints or scratches or anything like that, a couple of little small specks, please check out the photos yourself, pretty good pics and pretty nice coins in my opinion.
£390 each including postage with special delivery, or £765 for the pair....

It's clearly not a viable long term strategy. The mint seems to have sussed that out a long time ago.

Good Grief! There's a whole horde of the blighters at it! The dastardly thing is they are not even breaking any law! Selling genuine product at grossly inflated prices when the unsuspecting customer could get exactly the same thing at a fraction of the cost elsewhere! Presumably these consumers are trapped in Ebayland with no option? Meanwhile I must just pay my Poll Tax . . .

I sure wish I had known about the forum before frequenting BBP and the Royal Mint. They do have their uses, don't get me wrong, but they are the least competitive most of the time when you're looking for low premiums.
If all of my silver had come from the forum, it wouldn't all be underwater like it is now🙄

To address the original comment: the general advice with any sort of "investment" (or hedge/etc) is don't be a forced seller. I don't know if everyone here will agree, but I would build enough of an emergency fund to cover most contingencies (certainly the type that would be covered by price of a few ounces of silver) before buying PMs. It's also good to have a plan for how to sell (eg knowing dealer spreads, times to get paid and local options, and working on your forum membership here) before you buy.

Can't see silver as an 'investment', almost all of what I've bought is underwater and will probably continue to be for quite some time if I were to sell to dealers. They buy well below spot😅
I buy silver because I feel it is severely undervalued. I hope it will be revalued during my lifetime, but can't guarantee even that. It has been deeply undervalued for decades though, so my hopes are not high. I regard it as a speculative aquisition. A punt.
I would only sell through the forum of course..

    Sucks
Once I saw a sov on the window of a high-str jeweller here and though "that's a good price", it was close to spot. They broke my balls before they brought it closer to their till, turns out it was a half sov🤣
These so-called pros will rip you off, stick to the forum mate! Some local members might even buy for cash, you never know..

That can't be manipulation funny business 23:30 to 23:36 can it. Drops £15 at 23:30only to rise £20 in the space of 3 minuets then back down £5 to where we were before the market opened in the next 3 minuets.

It is absolutely not a die number.
Die numbers were first introduced for Half Sovs in 1863. None present before that date.
Note: At some point I will share my work on half Sovs which provides a much clearer view of Die numbers than Marsh.

Oh my god this annoys the c**p out of me. Not on this forum I have to say, usually in person. But the old “oh! That one’s lovely! That ones £25 too like this one?”

No mate - that limited production year proof libertad is not the same price as the beat up Brit you’re looking at no. And whilst we are at it and before you ask - the gold ones are more money too. Yes really - that much more. And I’m going to rock your world here pal - the 2oz and 10oz are also more expensive than the 1oz.
