I cannot agree with the common folklore that E Bay is just one big scam by buyers intent on gaming the house rules. I know it suits this forum to believe that only the TSF is a squeaky clean marketplace, but if I look back hard, I wouldn't be surprised to find a few chancers on here in the past.
This year, I have made 370 coin sales, admittedly most of low value but not all, and received just one negative feedback from someone who claimed never to have received the coins in question, worth £10. Most, actually the 99.5% of my buyers are genuine and honest, going by my feedback.
    Just saying...
In this case, I wonder how many positive feedback ratings did your scamming buyer have? And did you send to a genuine postal address or a business industrial estate or PO Box, by any chance?

It's not clear to me who won this. A bit of after timing going on there, surely.

I've read further on the FAQ page of this issue, and it's clear that the privy mark only applies to the 2023 definitive issue.

I see the RM website states that "Each reverse design also features an intricate pattern based on His Majesty’s cypher, created especially for these coins – as well as a privy mark that is exclusive to this set."
Does that mean ordinary 2023 definitive coins with this new design won't have the special privy mark, or that in future years there won't be one?

Sorry to hear that! I have stopped selling on Ebay while ago as I couldn't take it anymore - mainly dealing with crooks.
I dont know if it is a push but some Ebay sellers here would appreciate buyers nickname - to ban him.
    Best of luck!

I think the massive difference between eBay and here is.. once someone is found to be sketchy, they are ran out of town pronto. On eBay they can repeat the crime every so often.

Hi all, I have for sale 3 perfectly adequate soverigns in pretty good condition. Pricw is £375 each. Neither shiny new or trashed they are in decent condition and perfectly good for a stacker. Take all 3 and ill take 15 quid off as I'll save that on postage.
Better still they have free postage even if you're poor and can only afford to buy one! You don't see that too often, but I'm nice that way.
I'm really bad at photography and can make the nicest coin look like it belongs mounted on the ring finger of a 1970's Millwall fan, they actually look a bit nicer in person though, of course I'm not trying to represent these as pristine.

Having just stumbled across this thread, there is one major thing are am not comfortable with.
Collaboration with other TSF members might benefit the bidder, but will definitely not benefit the seller.
Imagine if this was happening on a TSF auction. No one would ever put anything up for auction again. This would destroy any trust.  I am sure Chris wouldn't stand for it.
The whole point of an auction is the fun of winning and hopefully still get a deal.   Telling others what you want to bid on in the hope that others step aside for you is underhanded tactics against the sellers.
Remember without sellers, there be no auction.

    Just the first one.
I keep it very simple. I have a maximum I will go to for any given coin. I don’t understand how telling somebody that I intend to bid on it would help me.

@NGMD Thank you for taking the time to set up a discussion area for our auction. Just to reiterate we do not share any bidding information and whilst we cannot control if customers want to discuss bidding we suspect most will not want to make this public knowledge.
With regards to the running of the auction,  we have strived to create a transparent platform for customers to sell and buy. As far as I am aware we are now the only auction to offer - 0% Buyers Premium, A Free phone number to contact us on and reserves for our consigners. Our 10% commission (which is lower if you are a TSF member) is one of the lowest in the industry. We intend to continue to offer this great service with the help and support of our customers.
We do our upmost to start coins as low as possible, and a good indication of the reserve can be usually be found on the low estimate. When a coin is bid at the start price and doesn't meet reserve the item will not sell, however often reserves are lowered during the pre-bidding stage so we actively encourage pre bidding as the reserve CAN be altered during the auction. It will never be higher, but it can be lowered if the consigner agrees.
Unlike most auctions we are 90% about consignments - meaning we do not buy the stock and auction it off ourselves. Being a fairly new auction we rely on the consignments from the general public which can be challenging managing  expectations. We have other challengers also including the moving gold price and the moving market. Of course we want every lot to sell, but this is not typical of most auctions especially one which is still building it's audience. Recently the Royal Mint had an auction where just 40'odd Lots sold out of 182,  https://auction.royalmint.com/auctions/catalog/id/38?page=2  - They obviously charge buyers premium, but still The Royal Mint - the most well known producer of coinage struggled.
I like to take the positives about what we have created and push forward this idea of 0% buyers premium auctions. It makes the process so much simpler for the customer and we are looking in ways to keep this going. The best thing TSF members can do is support us - because if we don't get the support of the general public then everyone is back to paying 6%, 18%, 22% and above...if you enjoy buying your coins in this way.
Thank you everyone for your interest and we hope you will continue to support our family run Auction.
    Regards

Is this non-alignment of the obverse image with the reverse, inside a slabbed sovereign example, considered a fault that detracts from its value and collector appeal, or a sought-after error?

Similar sort of question could be asked for Victoria shields.  MS60s + go for top dollar.  Is it worth paying over for AU 53 or worse with details?  In my opinion no , and I'd break them out of the slabs. Gillicks less than MS64 bit pointless I'd say to pay over . Use your own judgement.  Buy a nice raw coin and enjoy it.

It looks like a rotation error to me, sufficient enough to get the MINT ERROR designation from NGC, if that had been asked for.
