Still premium-tastic but better than I've seen from a dealer for a while. I'm tempted but I'm holding/hoping for premiums to come back a smidge so RM stuff or maybe mid size bars are a bit more sensible. Lovely coin the maple though 👍

i notice the volume of open interest on the Comex is really low and falling (the green line) -  there are fewer and fewer open contracts - liquidity is drying up. Interest must be moving elsewhere and off the Comex.

it's never about all in or nothing. the difference is gold bugs have the
option to sell their gold at a profit now and optionally move some of
the funds into silver. it's about strategy and manoeuvrability. it's about
being able to position yourself to better deal with an ever changing
future. silver bugs lost manoeuvrability when buying during the 2015
dip, they just don't recognise it.

Lived through 2011 and absolutely no shortage of buyers at all on flea bay, constant outbids.  1oz coins on £40-£50oz buy it now selling no problem at all.
    Myself included
Remember when people are looking at silver at £30oz people are thinking it is the next big thing, as it will have gone from £10 to £30 in X amount of time
"JUST LOOK HOW FAR IT HAS GONE UP" they will cry
Just look on here when gold was down £700 oz it was dissolution, moan groan and gripes, "im down" "im not buying its only going lower"
Why were we not backing up the truck then ?
Why are people still buying now at £1400oz ? despite what it has gone up on the past year ? because people are positive the positive trends will always keep going
Even buying at £40oz of physical silver it was folk saying, get it now because the genies out of the bottle and its only ever going up.
Get it now before it hits £50 and then £75
I bought it to it hook line and stinker  rather naively i'm afraid.   Hopefully im a bit wiser owl now
But saying that, i wish i had just bought gold from Day1 now, from when i started stacking in hindsight

i have heard members ask - if the price of silver goes up to £50 /oz, no-one will buy it - well how did it get to £50 /oz if people didn't buy it?
Bitcoin was a few cents in 2009 - the price of BTC has gone up a few 1000% and people keep buying.
My parents' first house was £1100 - people keep buying houses after they have gone up a few 1000%.
Gold was £325/ oz in the summer of 2007 - it is over £1400 now.
i see spot silver is £12.74 and silver coins are changing hands for more than 50% more than that.
i'll worry about people not buying silver at £28 when it happens - i don't think it will be worrying when it does.

For centuries, mariners have reported strange sightings of a massive, shipwrecking sea monster; the "Kraken". The beast was said to be so big it could be mistaken for an island, with tentacles powerful enough to tear a ship in two.
Two Ounce Kraken Silver Coin is the first release of the brand new “Creatures of the North” coin series from the Royal Canadian Mint. The series is set to have two releases every year starting in 2020.

28% Premium (price over silver spot price) seems way too high for a 5kg bar of silver. I'm pretty new at this but this doesn't look like a good deal. Hopefully others with my experience will reply too.

Blimey, 5kg is a proper door stop! 😄
if youre looking for best value Bairds mint maybe a better bet, the umicore bar is very nice but its at a premium and 5kg will be difficult to sell on - suggest buying 1kg bars at most. bairds are currenty listing 1kg at 433 + vat (for 5), bigger discount for 10.
if you want nice bars have a word with @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer Or check out their website, they’ve got umicore, metalor etc for a decent price
    happy shopping 👍

I was looking at this also. I bought here before a year ago maybe and premiums was about 10% above spot then. Premiums now are more then 20%. Won’t say its a good deal perse. But still probably the cheapest you can find at the moment from an online dealer.

Because they are pretty much the cheapest silver available from a reputable dealer (or anybody else for that matter) at this present point in time.
Why worry about "before lockdown"? We are talking price and availability now. I understand what you are saying though, it's a psychological thing. Even if somebody offered me a sovereign at spot today, I couldn't bring myself to buy it and would rather somebody else had it. Why? Because a few years back I was buying sovereigns sub-£200 and I can't mentally overcome them being £340-350 now. They are a good price, no doubt, but I have a mental block.
Anything around the £16-17/oz right now is a steal at current prices.
Not sure why I don't have the same mental block with silver. i have a screenshot on my phone of a monster box of maples when I was planning to buy a monster box. £5765 delivered for 500oz. That's £11.53 an ounce at my door.

Regarding some comments on here with being short, long, "we dont know where its going" "the 30s" etc.
Truth is everyone has got to realise that the central banking cartel that dominates the planet have interests at work that keep us as an underclass - so our working life is treated as numbers while they act against the best interest of the average citizen so we are getting nothing out of any daily/monthly price action. The very existence of the paper / virtual gold/silver market illustrates how central banks preserve the status quo by greasing their protection of power and profits. I laugh at the perception people I know when they use 2008 as a reference point to demonstrate financial crashes or corruption when it was the LAST largest crash in the conventional eye. So, for all intents and purposes nearly everyone on this forum is familiar with 2008, Bill Murphy became whistleblower for exposing the system. The interaction of central banks using anonymous positions to push $3.8billion in metals contracts down and then buy back up reverberates their is one winner in their arena, in their system, in their game and that is the central banks. Even Joseph Cassano, the leading cause of the sub-prime-mortgage failure produced the product in The City of London because its city-status is free from any checks and balances. Its honestly exasperating reading certain posts in here, listening, watching from people I know, friends in the financial industry, assumptions and preconditions about markets are just somehow spontaneously manipulated... And that the system isnt somehow unconditionally against the us. Its even got to the point where I see the retired in our country moan, criticise and take their frustrations out on my generation because they dont have the intelligence to protect themselves accordingly against this gangster inflationary hyperdebt scheme. The existence of a pension is for all of us to retire with the appropriate income. Yet you still have people in their late 60s, early 70s work part-time and claim they are retired then somehow lay the blame on whatever insane cognitive pathology they come up with. Nearly all assumptions on here are wrong. I can guarantee you that if we keep buying gold until we retire we have protected ourselves from this global heist. If you dont want to believe that fair enough its no skin of my nose but unfortunately the truth extinguishes deceptions, delusions and insitutionalised market conditioning.

Yeah I've got to second this, outside of our precious metals fanboi world and outside of the kind of circles that hire asset managers my experience is most 'normies' aren't chasing gold, silver or anything shiny. They're either struggling to manage in the 'normal' asset and currency world or for the more wealthy but not rich the idea of gold as a hedge isn't at the forefront of their minds. I have a varied group of friends and acquaintances in different positions and from different walks of life so have a reasonable idea within my segment of reality. I could be totally wrong in my estimation as maybe the folk I know are isolated examples, but I'm pretty sure we're in the minority overall (PM stackers). It's easy to believe the world sees things the way you/us/we do sometimes, especially when you get all your information from one source like YouTube or whatever else it may be. I try to watch/listen to varied sources of information as much as possible but I admit I lose patience with mainstream media/news very quickly and end up back in my Gerald Selente/Kitco/Mike Maloney style video cycle. I find what is said by these people to make more sense on a gut level than most other places, but it's always best to poke your head out of the cave every now and then and make sure the volcano hasn't erupted. It doesn't hurt to try and dig up figures and stats for yourself, but with the caveat that they can be presented in disingenuous ways. Critical thinking is key.
If you're buried in figures and charts relating to the market day in day out and make assumptions (like we all do) maybe something similar happens and the tunnel closes around you.
    Or I'm talking ballwax.
